february .. 2009
.. the long wait will be over soon. in fact, very soon even. i´m talking about the release of the album "everybody sounds great" by my band 'Sorry Computer'. it´ll be in stores in germany early march, and in online stores worldwide at the same time. we are very very happy to finally get it out, after so much hard work we spent on it, and after having to wait for quite some time till the release. i hope you people give it a listen, it´d be much appreciated.
we spent the last months in Niko´s studio to rehearse, and will go on stage in march, presenting the album live for the first time. [march 11th is the official release gig in the Tonstudio, stuttgart. before we´ll have a secret gig, march 2nd, in the FFUS wagon stuttgart nord.]
i hope to see some of you, so book your flights already .. ;))
other than that Niko, Oli and me (all members of Sorry Computer) are working hard on our upcoming company called 'Clangoin'. the website www.clangoin.com will be up late march, early april, and all we care for is music and sound. we put a lot of passion into this project, and while i never thought i´d team up with someone when it comes to my business i am very happy now that i changed my mind. all this developed while we were working on our album and therefor spent a lot of time together. time will tell. all i know now is that i can´t wait for the website, as it´ll be quite a good one me thinks.
privately i´m fine, and realized that one of my new fave habbits is cooking. it started with indian food, and recently i got into thai cooking. i always knew that cooking will become something important to me in the process of getting older, and it´s nice to see that time proved me right. oh, and of course i´m writing new songs, both for the band and for myself. i bought a saz, a turkish guitar, and am in love with it. actually, i´m also in love with tutkey itself since sabin and me stayed there last summer, and will visit it again in mai. this time it´ll be Istanbul.
finally some words on the financial crisis. it´s odd, as i´m the first person in my circly of friends being directly hit by it. i lost 2 of my most important clients, namely Volkswagen and Honda. i used to make the music for all their conventions and motor shows. well, no more. yes, it´s sad and leaves me a bit nervous. but then again i knew it could happen. anyway, time moves on and so does life. those up´s and down´s are nothing but a normal aspect of things. and even though it does make me worry i feel that this financial crisis is well deserved for our oh-so topmodern capitalistic world. it´s done by us, and the way we did it isn´t what i call healthy. here´s to the consequences .. ;)
